Teresa Zanelotti-Whitten is a daughter, sister, mother, wife and Nonna (Grandmother in Italian). Teresa started her career in cosmetology at age 19. After working in several salons, she decided to venture out on her own. With financial assistance from her parents, Joseph and Doris Zanelotti, Teresa and her sister Joanie opened the first Julians Hair Designers in Camp Springs, MD (PG County). The year was 1981. At age 23 she had a lot of responsibility for being a salon owner and single mom. Over the years Teresa has employed many outstanding Hairdressers, Receptionists, Shampoo Technicians, and Stylist. She has felt the ups and downs of being a business owner. But through her travels she would never trade her profession for anything else. As Teresa says “What job can you do being creative and receive instant gratification on a daily basis.” Teresa says “This is an amazing feeling”. I love to work in all phases of hairdressing, but her specialty is hair coloring.
Over the years Teresa and her staff have continually given back to the community. Teresa was appointed by Governor Schaffer and served on the “State Board of Cosmetology” for 9 years. The salon has raised money for many different causes, one being Breast Cancer Awareness.

Over the past 37 years Teresa has participated in continuing education in her career. She carries a Senior Cosmetologist License which you receive after 2 years of regular license and testing by the State Board of Cosmetology. She has spent uncounted hours on continual education in her field.

Nearly 30 years in this business 25 of them at Julians. Every day I learn something new!! With constant education and passion I am known for my trendy highlighting techniques , grey blending and much more coloring fun. My love for making people feel good is what fuels me. I’m a proud Mom of two amazing young men. I am known in the shop for always having a smile on my face. To do what I love next to the greatest group of women can never be called work!! 

Tara has been working at Julians since her junior year in high school. She started working as a receptionist and shampoo girl while in hair school. She also worked under Joanie and Teresa as an assistant to get ready to be on the floor alone. After graduating from high school in 2004, she became a licensed cosmetologist. She has been working at Julians since 2003.

Tara is known as the bubbly, outgoing stylist, and always the life of the party at Julians outings. She specializes in cuts and color. She is constantly furthering her education with classes or whatever opportunities she can get her hands into. She is looking forward to making you beautiful and LOVE your hair. Ashley, the daughter of Joanie and niece of Teresa, has worked at Julians since 2000. Ashley started as a shampoo tech and receptionist until she decided to go to the highly acclaimed Graham Webb Academy where she graduated in 2005. Ashley’s continuing education classes and innate style help her keep up on the latest trends. She specializes in color, cut, and waxing. She looks forward to meeting new people and making them feel great about themselves.

Natalie was born and raised in northern Calvert county. She is married to Jason and has two girls. Natalie has been doing hair/nails for over 15 years. Some of her services include color, cutting, updos and styling. She has continued her education over the years. Natalie is certified in natural beaded row extensions. La Toya has been working at Julian’s for 10 years. She started off as a shampoo tech and receptionist, until she decided to go to the highly acclaimed Graham Webb Academy in Virginia where she graduated in 2008. La Toya’s continuing education classes help her keep up on the latest trends. She specializes in hair coloring of all phases. Dimensional coloring (more than one color) and foiling (high and lowlights). She is fabulous with hair extensions and natural hair. La Toya also provides services for waxing, manicuring, and pedicures. She is very passionate about her work. La Toya wants her clients to feel wonderful and look fabulous when they leave her chair. When she is not working in the salon she is caring for her 2 beautiful children Destiny and Jayden. She looks forward to meeting new people and making them feel great about themselves.

Stephanie has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2010. In that year she also graduated from Huntingtown High School. Stephanie specialized in coloring, cutting, keratin smoothing treatment, manicures, and pedicures. Stephanie has been apart of the Julians family since 2013. She is constantly continuing her education to better herself. Stephanie loves meeting new people and is looking forward to meeting you!

Rebekah started her career in cosmetology at Julians Hair Designers in 2016 as a shampoo tech while she was in her junior year of high school and going to the Calvert Career Center for Cosmetology. She has assisted many stylist in the salon with their clients. Rebekah received her cosmetology license in 2017 before graduating high school and is now on the floor full time building her clientele. Rebakah listens to her clients concerns and will achieve what they search for in a color/style.  Coloring, dimensional color, haircutting, manicures-pedicures for both men and women are parts of her growing skills. Rebekah is very passionate about this career and hopes to make all of her clients happy and feel very confident with their hair when they walk out of the front door.
