Joanie has been a cosmetologist for 37 years. Opening her first salon with her sister Teresa and parents Doris & Joe Zanelotti, 1981 in Camp Springs, Md.

In 1996 Joanie and Teresa moved Julians Hair Designers to Dunkirk, Md. They were actually reunited with many clients that had moved to the area. At that time Doris and Joe retired from the business. Joanie took over all the daily bookwork along with payroll. She still works behind the chair 3 days a week. Joanie is very proud of her daughter, Ashley Dooley and stepdaughter, Natalie Abell who are following in her and their aunts’ dream of continuing to make our clients feel and look their best.

In her spare time she enjoys watching and playing with her 5 grandchildren.
